Michie Bennett, is the Manager, Director and Assistant at the William Bennett Summer School for 32 years. Mrs. Bennett studied piano and flute. At age 14, she began her flute studies with Liliko Hayashi and Masaharu Ishibashi, and continued at the Tokyo University of Arts with Masao Yoshida and Masaru Kawasaki. She also studied with Andre Jaunet in Switzerland through whom she met Marcel Moyse and had lessons with him in Boswil and Brattleboro whilst attending Marlborough Music Festival.
Later she heard a recording of William Bennett playing Bach's g-minor Concerto, and was prompted to come to London to study with him, and is still hanging in there!
She decided to start a record company of Bennett Productions, shortened to BEEP which became "Le Beep Sonore!", specializing in Flute music. She has taught in the Royal Academy of Music for 12 years (HonARAM), and in Bennett Summer Schools and Masterclasses in many countries.
She is passionate about the flute being played expressively and with good pitch, and is an untiring enthusiast for all things which uphold the standard of the flute.
